China National Complete Plant Import and Export Group Corporation Limited (COMPLANT) grew out of China National Complete Plant Export Corporation and was approved to establish by the then Prime Minister Zhou Enlai as a specialized agency of the Chinese government，organizing and implementing China-aided projects in November, 1959. Over the past 60 years, with the development of China-aided projects, COMPLANT has grown, expanded and successively executed more than 1600 projects in more than 100 countries and regions in Asia, Africa and Latin America, including Tanzania-Zambia Railway, Mauritania Friendship Port, Senegal National Grand Theatre and Bangui Stadium in Central Africa, etc., involving more than 10 industries such as transportation, electric power, metallurgy, chemical industry, light industry and textile. In 1993, COMPLANT was reorganized into a comprehensive foreign trade conglomerate, engaging in complete equipment export, international engineering contracting and investment. In 1999, the company was listed in the SOEs managed by the Central-government’s task force. In 2003, COMPLANT was listed as one of the Central-government enterprises supervised by SASAC of the State Council. In 2009, COMPLANT was 100% merged into State Development and Investment Corporation(SDIC) as a wholly-owned subsidiary company. In 2017, COMPLANT completed the restructuring and changed its name to China National Complete Plant Import & Export Group Corporation Limited. In 2020, COMPLANT embarked on its transformation journey towards environmental protection business after the decision of the party committee of SDIC.
COMPLANT has been shortlisted as the world's largest 250 international contractors of ENR for many consecutive years and has a total of 27 oversea institutions, including 18 branch companies and 9 offices (representative offices, offices), distributed in Asia, Africa, Latin-America and Europe.
